When this sweater showed up in the fall h&m lookbook, I was intrigued. It looked as if it might capture the magical cobweb-like destroyed look of Rodarte’s sweaters. But when I saw it in person last night at h&m’s herald square store, it just disappointed me. The sweater was itchy, already snagged and unraveling, and falling off the hanger. It also ran very large–2 sizes smaller than I normally wear!
Obviously with a thousand dollar price difference, the quality would decrease, but this sweater was a total imitation let down. I’m all for the trickle down effect, and designer inspired looks when they aren’t exact replicas. But in this case, Rodarte fans would find it wise to just be patient, and save all their pennies for this December’s Rodarte/Target designer collaboration.
