HONOR’s Spring 2012 collection was one of the most delicate, girly collections– and biggest hits– of the season. After being told how very girly the collection was, Designer Giovanna Randall decided to juxtapose “imperfect” elements alongside the polished feminine pieces. “I decided to go all the way and make it ultra feminine, but also with something slightly ‘off.’ I had a vision of creating an army of angry dolls that had been played with too much, not precious dolls that sit on a shelf.”
To get the look: Hair was sprayed with Bumble and Bumble Prep, and Thickening Spray, then blown dry.
Hair was styled with a severe side part, covering the forehead and the edge of one eye. Hair was then sprayed with Bumble and Bumble Dry Shampoo for texture, and pulled back into a loose low ponytail at the back of the head. To finish, hair was brushed through using the stylist’s hands, and topped off with Spray de Mode.
James Boehmer, NARS Director of Global Artistry created a flawless face, framed with slightly off-kilter and messy lashes.
To get the look: new Spring 2012 productTinted Moisturizer was applied to the face, topped with a dusting of Loose Powder. Eyes were enhanced using Eyeliner Pencil in Black Moon, and Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Rue Bonaparte and Santa Monica Boulevard.
Eyelashes were coated with many, many applications of Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara and Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara. Said Boehmer “When you think you’ve got enough mascara, add two more coats.” To finish the look, Pure Matte Lipstick in Valparaiso was applied to lips.
The retro inspired dresses were a large part of the reason this was one of my very favorite collections of the season. I’m only sad I overbooked myself that afternoon, and didn’t get a chance to shoot the runway show as well!
