HONOR’s Giovanna Randall is a breath of fresh air in the NY fashion world. Showing collections that would be equally at home on the runways of Paris, she continues to impress me with her talent, and growth as a (very!) new designer.
For Spring, the HONOR collection was inspired by nature, and human anatomy. Taking this interpretation literally, was Deborah Lippmann for Beauty.com.
“We created a gorgeous high-gloss white nail that was actually bone-inspired. We wanted a natural nail that still captured the essence of the collection, and came up with a killer combination.” –via Deborah Lippmann’s tumblr.
To get the look: Start with 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann Amazing Grace”, followed by 1 coat of Deborah Lippmann “Like A Virgin”. Finish with Lippmann’s “Addicted to Speed Top Coat”.
Romy Soleimani for STILA prepped models’ skin with Erno Laszlo products, using Light Controlling Lotion, and Luminous Eye Complex. STILA’s Stay All Day Foundation and Concealer and Sheer Pressed Powder were used on skin. Custom Color Blush and Self Adjusting Bronze added color to cheeks. Eyes were accented with Opal Jewel Eye Shadow (followed by clear gloss) to also mimic the white “bone” inspiration. The look was finished with Glamour Eyes Mascara.
James Pecis for Bumble and Bumble created an inverted double french braid, patterned after bones and muscle.
To get the look: Hair was parted in the center, then layered with Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray, and Thickening Hair Spray to add texture. Hair was styled into corn row-esque inverted french braids.
Hair was completed with the addition of rhinestone pins, scattered throughout the braids.
The collection was beautiful, with the anatomical inspiration appearing both subtly in small details like patterns, and more literally within the spine-like shapes of glitter pvc fabric back pieces.
