Tanya Taylor is the creator of some of my favorite prints and textures shown at NYFW. They are always ladylike, yet never boring. And each season I find myself wishing I could buy the majority of what she sends down the runway. I’m a big fan of dresses, and her dresses– well, they impress.
Along with creating great fabrics, Tanya also designs some wonderful complimentary accessories. Frequently including things such as bags, belts, and hair embellishments.
Responsible for the hair style secured with those gorgeous leather ties, was Allen Wood, for Bumble and Bumble. For Fall, Tanya wanted a “relatable everyday girl’s” hair style. This translated into clean pony tails, with a center part.
To get the look:
Hair was misted with Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray, then blown dry. Next, the models’ hair was parted in the center, then secured into a low ponytail. To finish, the ponytail was accented with the custom leather ties.
For nails, this season Tanya wanted a more striking look, going with Morgan Taylor’s Little Black Dress polish.
To get the look:
Nails were painted with Morgan Taylor Little Black Dress, then finished off with one coat each of Make It Last, and Need for Speed topcoats. For the fish spine nails, the look again began with Little Black Dress. Next, the skeleton design was hand painted onto nails using a nail brush, and Could Have Foiled Me polish. Game Game glitter was then applied over the design. And the look was finished with one coat each of Make It Last, and Need for Speed topcoats.
The finished look:
