DESIGUAL definitely wins the award for funkiest show of the season. With “Japanese Street Fashion” inspired hair, collaged blue jean nails, and an on trend coral lip, the backstage beauty for the SS16 show stood out amongst the straight hair, and neutral beauty looks commonly found among the rest.
Edward Lampley for amika created the two fun, braided hair styles for the show.
One, a more traditional corn row style, and a second winding zig-zag braid style, were distributed amongst the models.
Lampley used a combination of amika’s Bombshell Blowout Spray, Un.Done Texture Spray, and Perk Up Dry Shampoo to prep the hair before braiding, and keep the look in place.
MAC‘s Gordon Espinet kept skin smooth and simple, but amped up the beauty look with a vibrant coral lip.
To get the look, lips were lined using MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in What a Blast (an orange that was lighter than the lipsticks used), then filled in using either Morange, or So Chaud Lipstick. The cat eye was created using Black Track Gel Liner, applied with a MAC 266 Small Angle Brush.
Finally, Keri Blair created a textured nail using tiny bits of jeans, and colored stickers, to compliment the jeanswear in the collection.
The complete finished look.
