Need Supply Co. Jeffrey Campbell Exclusives

the greyest ghost

Need Supply recently hosted a “design your dream show” contest in collaboration with, and Jeffrey Campbell. The winning shoe designed by lookbook user Emily L is now available for pre-order!

In case you somehow haven’t noticed, wedges are very “in” right now. The harness style straps, and round stud detail take the Jeffrey Campbell C’est Moi wedges to the next level. The shoes come in both black leather, and gray suede, and retail for $135.

I’m already mentally in sandal and ballet slipper mode, despite the fact that there is still snow on the ground and it’s freezing cold in NYC. Really liking all of the spring JC shoes I’ve seen so far, but still waiting for some more creative flats! Come on Jeffrey!

Jeffrey Campbell Does Prada

I’ve been eyeing these Jeffrey Campbell Prada inspired heels over at mod cloth for about the past week. They are missing the fringe and lack a peep toe, but otherwise capture the detailing of the originals pretty well.

Compare to the Prada heels I found in the window at the Soho store:

I think this style is made for re-creation as a beautiful DIY project. But if you want the look with out investing the man hours or paying the giant price tag, the JC heels are the way to go! Buy them for $102.99 at Mod Cloth.

Never Gonna Stop Loving You

Halo Teardrop Boots, $148

Jeffrey Campbell sure loves Ann Demeulemeester! I was just browsing the huge new shoe shipment at Nasty Gal Vintage, and noticed these two new pairs of JC wedge boots. These have to be the 9th and 10th pair of JC’s Ann D inspired shoes, but this time he changed them up a bit to make them his own.

Korova Lace Up Boot, $198.

I really like both pairs– can’t wear them due to my bad knee making me walk all wobbly in heels, but I’d probably buy the black if I could. The cream boots are cute, but verging dangerously close to figure skating wear territory.

There are some other gorgeous JC shoes for sale at Nasty Gal. I just wish Jeffrey Campbell would make more creative looking FLATS! There is a huge market of women who don’t wear heels much, but would like something more than average old ballet flats. Perfect opportunity for you Jeffrey! And I’m still waiting on a shoe company (any shoe company!) to produce a knockoff of the Ann D flat corset boots. Why isn’t anyone getting on that?

The Best of What’s Going on This Week: Pre-Holiday Fun

To say there are a lot of awesome events going on this week is putting it lightly. (This whole month is actually nothing but events, family visits, and holidays for me.) Here are some of my favorite, and in my opinion, the most exciting events going on during this upcoming week:

The Hayden Harnett sample sale started this morning, but is also going on online!

Shop the online sale here.

Along with the Patrick Demarchelier book signing tonight, there is also a shopping party at the ROGAN Bowery store hosted by Liz from White Lightning:

If you’re single, and looking for someone to kiss under the mistletoe this holiday season, tomorrow night’s Brooklyn Holiday Meatup at the Bell House would be a good place to look:

(Event info screencap Via The Bell House)
Tickets are available for $10 here.

The Brooklyn Flea’s Gifted Holiday market is ongoing all month in Manhattan. Celebrate their opening, and drink free beer from 6-9pm Wednesday at the Gifted Shopping Party:

On Thursday, Brooklyn boutique ALTER is hosting a Jeffrey Campbell Trunk Show, with shoe giveaways and champagne:

Sadly not in NYC, but if you’re in Dallas Texas on Thursday, and want to meet Jane and Judy Aldridge from Sea of Shoes and Atlantis Home this event if definitely worth stopping by. It’s sponsored by GUESS and BAZAAR, and supports a children’s medical fund. Shop, support a good cause, and meet some awesome bloggers all in one place!

Tomorrow is the last day to RSVP. More info here.

If you thought the holiday craft fair bonanza of this past weekend was over, you’re wrong:

Join Brooklyn Based and Third Ward for their Handmade Holiday Craft Fair Saturday afternoon at 3rd ward in Bushwick.

195 Morgan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY RSVP and find out more info here.

And check out the Hearts and Crafts Affair on Sunday at Cafe Grumpy in Greenpoint:

View the event’s facebook page here.

If you’re doing some holiday shopping for your loved ones (or yourself) at Urban Outfitters, you might as well save money:

And finally, while not technically this week this is worth noting:
Next Tuesday, The Outnet is having a Balmain pop up sale.

Definitely worth saving your pennies for!

Knockoff Patrol

I swear I could start a second blog on just designer shoe knockoffs. But I’ll let someone else go there. : )
This is just a small sampling of knockoffs I’ve found while browsing the internet in the last week. A few pairs of shoes, and one very overpriced pair of leg warmers.

Strangely Rick Owens-esque boots at Free People:

The new J. Aldridge by Sea of Shoes for Urban Outfitters boots:
Urban Outfitters.

Jane’s sketch sure looks a lot like the Vivienne Westwood Pirate boots, in one of their many incarnations over the years:

She has the potential to be a great artist or designer, so it saddens me to see her just loosely interpreting her favorite shoes for her Urban Outfitters line.

L.A.M.B. has already done not one, but two less blatant knockoffs of the boots in the past:
Chartres Boot.

Belgrave Boot.

More Vivienne Westwood Inspired Pirate-ish Boots currently available:

Free People.

Jeffrey Campbell at ShopBop.

If you’re still looking for the Jeffrey Campbell Ann D. Inspired Corset Boots, David Z. has the suede version in stock, and on sale for $87! I saw them for sale in store as well.

I’ve saved the best for last with these Rodarte-inspired leg warmers:

Once again, Free People.

$128!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve seen much cheaper Rodarte inspired knit pieces available on Etsy. There are quite a few sellers with custom made spider web tights starting at around $50.

Jeffrey Campbell Does Acne, Again

Image via LF stores

Looks like JC saves all his best knockoffs for LF exclusives. Following the limited edition Ann Demeulemeester corset boot knockoffs he did this summer, the brand has now replicated Acne’s sold out Atomica wedges. Last week, Refinery 29’s readers freaked over the similar style of the JC 99 Wedge (a $99 wedged booty, minus the metallic edging and laces). Today, the even more realistic looking knockoff popped up on the LF site.

The original Acne Atomica Wedge:

As seen on Alexa Chung

The differences: The Acne wedge is higher, the silver rim on the bottom fits more seamlessly around the shoe. The Acne shoe has what looks like real metallic edging, compared to the JC’s painted leather edging. And judging by the above photo, the leather of the shoe it’s self is smoother.

I understand popular styles of shoes being knocked off. It’s all supply and demand. And the average person not being able to afford $500+ shoes. This isn’t the first time JC has knocked off Acne, and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

What I don’t understand is why the JC knockoff’s are always nearly $200 or more. No price info is up yet for the LF replica. But if past collaborations are any clue, I’m guessing they aren’t cheap.

Creepers are Back!

I’m a bad blogger, and forgot to post this week explaining the lack of updates! I’m on vacation at my parent’s house, enjoying the beach one last weekend and attending some family parties. I’ve got a LOT of exciting updates coming soon, but wanted to share what I found while browsing shopbop to kill time before heading to my cousin’s 12th birthday:

jeffrey campbell,creepers
Stud Creeper Flats

I had a black velvet in high school, it’s cracking me up that they are back in style. I’ve seen a ton of bloggers posting about coveting a pair. Alexander Wang made some, but I’m really not feeling them. These are one of the first pairs I’ve seen that I actually like, are reasonably affordable, and not high-heeled.

Will you be wearing creepers this fall?

Jeffrey Campbell Does Chloe

Chloe Studded Booties

Free People’s Northern Lights Boot by Jeffrey Campbell. $198

Now Chloe can be added to the list of JC knockoffs, joining brands such as Acne, Balmain, Ann Demeulemeester, and Opening Ceremony. How do you feel about all of Jeffrey Campbell’s designer inspired shoes??
