Zac Posen for Target 24 Hour Shopping Party

Zac Posen for Target: 24 Hour Shopping Party Sneak Peak

Thursday was one of those NYC days that was just jam packed with events and parties. One of the things I was most looking forward to was the press preview of the Zac Posen for Target Shopping Party! When I first heard about the event, I was ecstatic– It meant I didn’t have to stay up until 3am next weekend waiting to place an order! Really though, it’s always amazing to see Target’s designer collaborations in person, a feat which isn’t always easy in New York City. If you have an opportunity in the next 24 hours to do the same, TAKE IT.

I was really impressed with the Zac Posen line. You might hear me gush over Target a lot on this blog (IMO they really can do no wrong), but seriously this collection blew me away. The quality and selection in this collection was phenomenal. And even better, the sizing seemed to run more “normal” than some of the collections of the past. Only the pink animal print dress seemed to run small, from what I saw.

The Like performed while buyers snatched up their favorite pieces.

The pieces that impressed me most:

The Brocade Floral Dress*
The Red Leather & Suede Jacket
The Navy and Black Snap Dress*
Ruffled Red Prom Dress

* The 2 dresses I bought.

This dress is amazing:

I went right when the event started, at 7. But I only had a short time before I had to head to a second event, so I missed Zac, Claire Danes, and Selma Blair. Everything looked amazing though, and the way it was presented was beautiful. I hear it most sizes quickly sold out during the preview! It looked like a lot of stock was still available, hidden in a back room for the public opening. But if you want to shop early, I suggest going asap!

I shot a quick video of some of the mannequins wearing the collection, and The Like doing their sound check:

When I left at 8pm, there were already two girls in line:

Hope you two got everything you wanted!

Both of the dresses I got are gorgeous, but this is my favorite Target dress ever:

If you went, what did you get? What do you plan on buying next week?

Target To Go

Last night Racked broke the news that a Target pop up shop featuring holiday gifts, and some of the new Rodarte for Target pieces will make an appearance in NYC’s meatpacking district next week. Now Fashionista is reporting that the pop up will grace not only NYC, but Washington D.C and San Francisco as well! Yesterday I was reassured by Target’s PR department that official images will be out next week. But I can’t wait to finally see some of the pieces in person!

The pop up launches with a press preview on Thursday, and will be open to the public from December 11-13th, 10am-8pm. According to Fashionista, the locations are as follows:

“New York: Gansevoort Street & Washington (at the High Line)
Washington D.C.: M Street & Wisconsin Avenue (Georgetown)
San Francisco: 5th Street between Market & Mission (Mint Plaza)”

I’m so excited that Target is continuing the tradition of pop up shops in nyc! If the holiday/Rodarte pop up is anything like the Anna Sui for Target store I went to during fashion week (where I met Anna Sui herself!), or the Bullseye Bodega, it should be amazing.

Edit: A few of the official images recently showed up on InStyle:

Also just in case you missed it: There is a Rodarte sample sale tomorrow! (I’m going, so expect a full report later this week!) I hear it’s rather booked, but it might be possible to still make an appt. Info here.

Save Fashion Opening Night Party

Save Fashion 1

Save Fashion officially opened this morning. But last night special guests got to shop early, and celebrate Save Fashion’s return at the opening night party.

When I arrived, the party was already at capacity, and the line was 30 people deep. After a short wait outside in the wind, we were allowed in. This was my first time at Inven.tory, but I’d been meaning to go for ages. The space is pretty large, and laid out much better than the first Save Fashion pop up shop at Port Authority was. Racks and racks of clothing lined the walls, accompanied by a small bar area, and a DJ booth. The event was so packed it took a few minutes to make it from the front to the back of the store, where the shoes (what I was looking for) were located. The shoe selection was much better than last time–I snagged a cute pair of bright blue Devotte sling-back sandals for $45!

While mingling with the crowd, I spotted a few Inven.tory staffers:

And ran into my new friend Chrissy, who recognized me from the internet (from another site)!

There were lots of fashionable guests as well:

I’m not sure of this woman’s name, but I see her at events all the time. I was in love with her outfit:
