Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2015 offering was a magical, floral inspired collection. Of course, one always expects beauty at an Oscar show. But this season, I was even more blown away than usual.
Working as part of the Live Pinning team for the Oscar PR Girl Pinterest board once again, I spent a glorious 4 hours photographing the backstage, and runway show.
It’s always a thrill seeing gorgeous gowns going down a runway. But experiencing them all up close, and seeing the impeccable detail that goes into each piece is just mind blowing. Every single season I feel privileged to get to inspect the collection and see what exactly goes into producing each aspect of the show.
Detail of one of my favorite dresses in the collection.
Makeup legend Gucci Westman used Hourglass Cosmetics to create a “clean and sophisticated” look.
To get the look:
Hourglass Calligraphy Liquid Eye Liner was drawn onto lids to create a cat eye shape. To make the liner appear even darker, Hourglass 1.5mm Mechanical Gel Eye Liner was layered on top. Hourglass Opaque Rouge Lipstick in Empress was dabbed onto lips with a finger tip.
This would make a lovely wedding dress!
When Oscar came out to take his bow, I remember thinking “this is important”, and taking dozens of photographs. Who was to know then it would be the last time I’d ever see him? I put off writing about this show for a long time, because it just made me so sad. But this is how I’ll always remember him. Smiling, and proud, surrounded by women he loved, who loved his beautiful dresses just as much.
